(ĐN)- At a seminar themed ““The role of science and technology in industrialisation and modernisation of agriculture and rural areas in Dong Nai” held in Dong Nai on the morning of April 24, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Quoc Thang stressed the need for Dong Nai to focus on sectors with low investment cost and enhance rural infrastructure construction.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Thang applauded Dong Nai’s efforts in applying information technology in agricultural development in the past time. Accordingly, the local farmers had an opportunity to have access to science and technology in order to develop local agricultural production and introduce their agricultural products into different markets. This helps the farmers to raise their income and to produce new products with high quality aiming to improve the farm competitive ability.
The Deputy Minister stressed that Dong Nai needs to make further efforts in the coming time to speed up industrialisation and modernisation of agriculture and rural areas. Accordingly, Dong Nai has to concentrate on developing agricultural infrastructure in rural areas, bringing high-speed Internet to remote areas of the province. Besides, the province should conduct many programmes in bio-technology, animal and seed to improve the productivity, quality and competitiveness of agricultural products
