(ĐN) - The Dong Nai people enjoyed the Dinh Hoi Lunar New Year in a cheerful, safe and thrifty atmosphere, said Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh at a meeting on the first working day after Tet holiday. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot also attended the meeting.
According to reports of departments, agencies and localities, many art performances and cultural activities have been held during the Lunar New Year festival to meet the local people’s entertaintment demands. The families of invalids and martyrs, policy beneficiaries and the poor in the province got a happy Tet thanks to the assistances from the local government, community and enterprises. However, the number of traffic accidents increased on the Tet days.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh praised the efforts of departments, agencies and localities in preparing Tet for the poor and policy beneficiaries. He expressed his hope that the departments will continue made all efforts to successfully fulfill the targets of this year’s provincial socio- economic development.
