the Provincial Youth Union, the province’s Department of Resource and Environment in association with Dinh Quan district People’s Committee held a meeting in Dinh Quan district to celebrate World Environment Day 2006. Also present at the meeting were Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh, representatives from provincial organizations and agencies and more than 700 members of Youth Union and some local people.Addressing at the meeting, Thinh urged emphasis on the theme of World Environment Day 2006 of Deserts and Desertification, and the slogan used being “Don’t desert the drylands”. He also called for active participation from members of Youth Union and entire people throughout the province in environmental protection activities in local communities. He pointed out this is an importance work to ensure the protection and conservation of environment for future generations.
After meeting, all delegates, local people and Dinh Quan district’s youth volunteers went on to plant trees and clear rubbish in La Nga Victory Statue, bridges and markets in the district.
