(ĐN) – As of March 10, 2006, 4 delegations comprised of representatives from the Provincial Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Provincial Labor Federation begin the investigation of the practice of Labor and Employment Law and the Decree 03 issued by the Government in Dong Nai’s 40 foreign invested companies.

According to the report by Deputy Director of Provincial Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Lam Duy Tin at the meeting held on March 8, the most important causes of strikes over the past time were as follows: Some foreign invested companies in Dong Nai didnot adequately focus on the implementation of policies on women laborers, employment, social security etc. as well as the implementation of the Decree 03; Actually, most workers did not fully aware of legislation that provides for their legitimate rights to organize strikes; Most labor conflicts were at some foreign invested companies which delayed in establishment of their trade union organizations otherwise trade union organizations fail to carry out their functions related to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of workers; the current laws and regulations are still relatively unclear and undeveloped in many important areas ….
