(ĐN) - Yesterday morning, December 15, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dang Thi Kim Nguyen met a delegation from the Italian Region of Lombardy headed by the Region’s Vice President Renato Polimeni. The Italian delegation’s objective was to learn about investment possibilities in Dong Nai province.

Mrs. Dang Thi Kim Nguyen took this opportunity to highlight the foreign investment attraction into the province. Addressing at the meeting, Mr. Renato Polimeni expressed concerns of businesses from the Lombardy Region about the investment climate for foreign firms in the province aiming at seeking investment opportunities here. With regards to investment promotion, he suggested that closer cooperation should be developed between Dong Nai province and the Lombardy Region for mutual benefit, which deal with strengthening bilateral trade ties through establishing Dong Nai’s representative office in Milan (capital of the Lombardy region) and planning an trade promotion visit to the Region as early as possible…At the meeting, both sides signed Memorandum of Understanding of Bilateral Investment Promotion Cooperation between Dong Nai and the Lombardy region. Situated in the north of the peninsula on the border with Switzerland, Lombardy is one of the main gateways to Italy, lying at a major junction of the great east-west/north-south communication axes. Situated at the heart of the area between Turin, Genoa and Milan commonly known as the "industrial triangle" Lombardy is today one of Europe’s "Four Engines", along with Baden Württemberg (Germany), the Rhône Alpes (France) and Catalonia (Spain) - its counterparts in a cooperation and collaboration agreement. The regional economy alone represents a fifth of Italys economy and its per capita GDP is one of the highest of all the European Regions.
