According to statistics from the Overseas Labor Management Department under the Ministry of Labor, more than 6,750 Vietnamese laborers currently are working in the Republic of Korea (RoK) under new licensing law. It is expected that additional 2,400 Vietnamese laborers will be dispatched to RoK at the end of this year. Under RoK’s new licensing law, guest workers can earn a high monthly income of over US$1,000 with low initial costs. Vietnam is one of six countries to benefit from RoK’s new law. Although having provided lower allocated labor export quotas to RoK than other countries by RoK, Vietnam still tops the list of Asian countries which have a high rate of selected labors to entry RoK. This is due to Vietnamese labors winning the confidence of Korean employers by displaying competence and hard-working.
