(ĐN) – Prime Minister Phan Van Khai just issued the Decision on approval of building a new international airport serving
The new airport will have four runways with the size of 4,000 m length and 60 m width each for being capable of accommodating heavy planes such as the A380, Airbus’ new jumbo jet.
The airport is designated to handle 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year.
Prime Minister asked Ministry of Transport for giving instructions to Vietnam Aviation Department to implement Long Thanh airport project as early as possible. The airport project is scheduled to complete in 2011.
