(ĐN) – Yesterday morning May 11, the Dong Nai delegation as led by Mr. Vo Van Mot as Chairman of the Provincial Peoples’ Committee paid a visit to Gyeongsangnam province on the occasion of their trip to Korea. This province is twinned with Dong Nai province. Mr. Kim Chae Young as the deputy Governor of administration in Gyeongsangnam warmly received the delegation.

At the meeting, they exchanged together on their economic and social situation, in particular, the remarkable achievements during 10 years of the friendly relationship and good cooperation to be established between two provinces. Since a friendly relationship was established between two provinces, they have organized together many actions of cultural exchanges, exchanged their experience by sending their officers to the friend province and other actions. Gradually, the friendly relationship between them has developed a good cooperation on the economy. On this occasion, Mr. Vo Van Mot also informed Mr. Kim Chae Young of good results gained from the last workshop in Seoul in May 10 and the next one in Busan. At the same time, he also let Mr. Kim Chae Young know about the effective Korean investment situation in Dong Nai province including the following companies: Taekwang, Hwaseung, Choongnam, Hyosung, Daeshin, Asia Stainless, LG chemical, Daewoo Pharma, Changshin, Tongkook etc. Mr. Kim Chae Young provided Mr. Vo Van Mot with economic situation of his province.
In 2004, in Gyeongsangnam province, exports had reached USD 24.3 billions and accounted for 35% of the national turnover. Its trade surplus had achieved USD 10.4 billions. Particularly, exports to Dong Nai including leather products and motor car accessories had attained USD 200 millions. Mr. Kim Chae Young told.
Both of the provinces wish their friendly relationship and good cooperation between them will be continuously consolidated and expand the economic relations based on the mutual trade advantages: The Vietnamese industries including crude oil, garment, seafood and agricultural products and Korean industries consisting of machinery, motor car, aviation and shipbuilding and so on.
After that, the delegation was guided to visit GM Daewoo motor car company located in Changwon where is a metropolis of Gyeongsangnam. Then, they also had a tour of Goseong Dinosaur Museum. .
It is known that Gyeongsangnam is located in the southeast area of Korea, it is one of the top industrial provinces in Korea. The following key industries that play an important role in the Korean economy are power, electronics, shipbuilding, and motor car manufacture. At the same time, this place is also an original point of Korean history and culture. The population is 3,140,000 people. The physical area is 10,513 square kilometers.
In the afternoon at the same day, Mr. Kim Chae Young gave a party to welcome the delegation. Following, a working programme in 2005 –2006 was passed through and agreed by representatives from both of the provinces. Accordingly, by 2005, Dong Nai province will send a Taekwondo team including 5 athletes to take part into an expanded Taekwondo competition in Gyeongsangnam. By 2006, a group of artists will be led to perform in Dong Nai by the Governor of Gyeongsangnam province. Gyeongsangnam Young League will also visit Dong Nai in order to take part in exchanges with the Dong Nai Youth. Gyeongsangnam representatives will come to Dong Nai in the first quarter of 2006 for discussing further details of these actions.
