First Congress of Dong Nai Youth Union opens

On December 7, the opening session of the First Congress of the Dong Nai Youth Union for the 2025-2029 tenure took place at the Provincial Convention Center, with the participation of 264 delegates representing outstanding officials and members.

The event was attended by Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union; Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Dong Nai province; Nguyen Thi Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Le Thi Thai, Member of the PPC  and Deputy Head of the PPC's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Huu Nguyen, Member of the PPC, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai VFF and Chairman of the Provincial Farmers’ Union; Nguyen Minh Kien, Member of the PPC, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai VFF and Secretary of Dong Nai Youth Union; and Nguyen Cao Cuong, Member of the PPC, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Dinh Quan commune attended the event.

The Congress elected the Presidium and Secretary Board; reported on the delegates’ composition; and approved the agenda, regulations, and election rules for the Executive Committee and Inspection Committee of the Dong Nai Youth Union for the 2025-2029 tenure. Notably, the Congress adopted the Provincial People’s Committee’s decision allowing the merger of the former Binh Phuoc Youth Union and the former Dong Nai Youth Union into the Dong Nai Youth Union.

On behalf of the Presidium, Vice Secretary of the Dong Nai Youth Union Phan The Cong stated that the first Congress of the Dong Nai Youth Union is an important platform for young people across the province to demonstrate solidarity and their spirit of voluntary participation in national construction and defense.

The Congress is tasked with providing an objective and comprehensive assessment of the achievements as well as the limitations and shortcomings, and drawing lessons from the implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Congress of the Youth Union in recent years. On that basis, it will identify the goals, orientations and tasks of the Union’s work and youth movements for the 2025-2029 tenure. At the same time, the Congress will conduct consultations to elect the Executive Committee of the Dong Nai Youth Union (tenure I), with sufficient capacity, qualifications and enthusiasm to lead the successful implementation of the Federation’s programmes and youth movements in the new period.

To successfully fulfill the contents and requirements of the Congress, the Presidium requested each delegate to uphold a strong sense of responsibility, promote democracy in discussing and deciding on the contents of the Congress in a comprehensive and accurate manner, while maintaining solidarity and strictly complying with the rules and regulations of the Congress.

During 2024-2025 period, the Dong Nai Youth Union made continuous efforts, achieved significant results, and gained valuable experiences. Organizational development was prioritized, and youth mobilization expanded. The Union’s campaigns and movements were closely associated with the province’s socio-economic programs; protected legitimate rights and interests of members; and encouraged young people to study, start their careers, and contribute to innovation, while actively participating in maintaining political security and social order.

With these achievements, the Dong Nai Youth Union has made important contributions to socio-economic development, national defense and security, building the Youth Union, contributing to Party building and strengthening the political system, as well as improving the people’s living standards. It has also contributed to the overall progress of youth affairs nationwide.

For the 2025-2029 tenure, the Congress identified three key tasks: fostering a generation of Dong Nai youth with revolutionary ideals, patriotism, national pride, self-reliance, ethics, and cultural lifestyle; building a strong organization; and promoting the pioneering, volunteer, and innovative role of youth. With the motto “Dong Nai youth: solidarity – pioneering – creativity – entrepreneurship – safeguarding the nation”, the Congress set 12 indicators along with specific missions and solutions to effectively implement the “I love my country” movement, the program to develop the Dong Nai Youth Union, and other major programs and schemes for 2025-2029.
