On the afternoon of August 29, member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son, together with leaders of relevant departments and sectors, inspected school facilities in Bu Dang Commune.
During the working session at Dieu Ong Ethnic Minority Boarding School, the delegation heard the school management board report on the current condition of its facilities for the new academic year. Recognizing the school’s difficulties, Vice Chairman Le Truong Son proposed that Bu Dang Commune work with the Department of Education and Training to survey and identify about 4–5 hectares of clean land in the commune center for building a new Dieu Ong Ethnic Minority Boarding School, as this reflects the province’s commitment to implementing ethnic policies. In the immediate term, he requested the Department of Education and Training, in coordination with the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, to survey the current condition and propose funding for repairing classrooms and functional rooms to serve the upcoming school year.

Reporting to the provincial working delegation, Bu Dang Commune leaders said the commune currently has 10 schools with more than 6,400 kids and students enrolled. Among them, Hoa Mi Kindergarten still lacks 2 classrooms, Minh Hung Kindergarten has 10 deteriorated classrooms, and Minh Hung Primary School has 18 deteriorated classrooms. In addition, some classrooms of other schools have damaged roofs and fences, lack toilets, and are short of desks and chairs due to damage.
Bu Dang Commune leaders petitioned the Provincial People’s Committee to provide funding for repairing classrooms at Minh Hung Kindergarten, Minh Hung Primary School, and Minh Hung Secondary School to meet learning needs in the new academic year.
Understanding the difficulties faced by schools and the locality, especially those within the bauxite planning zone, Vice Chairman Le Truong Son agreed with the proposals to repair classrooms; at the same time, he requested Bu Dang Commune to work with the regional Project Management Board to survey, reassess classroom conditions, and propose plans and budget estimates for repair investments. In the long term, Bu Dang Commune should coordinate with the Department of Finance to advise the Provincial People’s Committee on investing in school facilities to meet standards in the coming period.

Earlier, the delegation inspected the actual conditions of facilities and classrooms at Minh Hung Primary School. The school currently has 25 classrooms, including 7 Grade-4 classrooms and 18 Grade-3 classrooms. These classrooms are now all deteriorated and have exceeded their usage lifespan. In recent years, the school has not received investments for classroom repairs as it is located in the planned bauxite mining zone.
