Decree 03/2017/ND-CP on casino business was released by the Government.
The decree regulates business, management, and punishment of administrative infringements of casino business activities in Viet Nam.
Casino business is a conditional business and put under close management of competent State agencies.
Casino business must serve to develop tourism, trade; diversify entertainment; ensure national security and defense.
The decree shall come into effect on March 15.
Only casino resorts with a total capital investment of at least US$2 billion – including gaming and non-gaming facilities – are eligible to welcome Vietnamese to gamble. Local gamblers will be required to pay VND1 million for a 24-hour casino pass or VND25 million for a month-long pass./.
