Nguyen Kim Long elected Vice Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee

On the morning of August 8, the 10th Dong Nai provincial People’s Council for the 2021–2026 tenure convened its 4th session (thematic session) to decide on personnel work of the provincial People’s Committee under the provincial People Council’s authority.

The session was co-chaired by Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; and Tran Van Mi, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council. 

Also in attendance were Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee; Thai Bao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission, Secretary of the Party Committee of Provincial Party Agencies; Le Truong Son, Member of the Standing Commission of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and Ho Van Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Speaking at the opening, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council underlined that personnel work plays a vital role in improving governance efficiency, thereby enabling the province to achieve double-digit economic growth in 2025 and beyond. She called on delegates to exercise their responsibility to voters and the public by making a sound and judicious choice for the position of Vice Chairperson of the Provincial People’s Committee who will join hands with the whole provincial People’s Committee to successfully fulfill the assigned tasks.

At the session, Vo Tan Duc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee presented a proposal on nominating Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chief of the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee, for the Provincial People’s Committee consideration to the post of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 tenure.

In his remarks after being voted, Nguyen Kim Long expressed his profound gratitude to the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Standing Commission of the Provincial Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and all of the People’s Council deputies for their trust and confidence in entrusting him with the new responsibility.

Nguyen Kim Long stressed that in the new position, he is fully aware of the broader scope of responsibilities and higher demands, which require greater proactiveness, courage, and creativity. He pledged to work closely with other members of the People’s Committee, leveraging collective wisdom and capacity to accomplish the assigned tasks. The overarching principle, he said, is to place the interests of the province and its people first, ensuring governance is conducted in an open, transparent, and lawful manner. Furthermore, he is committed to proactively proposing and implementing breakthrough solutions in socio-economic development, national defense, and security.

He emphasized the need for resolute implementation, considering work efficiency and timeliness as benchmarks, and avoiding bottlenecks, delays, or stagnation. In particular, together with the whole provincial People’s Committee leadership, he pledged to foster solidarity, join hands to build a transparent and seamless administration that serves the people, and translate that spirit into concrete actions, thereby contributing to the creation of a proactive, effective, efficient, united, and accountable government.

Born in 1977 in Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Kim Long holds a master’s degree in economics and an advanced degree in political theory. He previously served as Chairman of the Members’ Council of Dong Nai Food Industry Corporation in January 2016. In August 2020, he was appointed Chief of the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee. One year later, in August 2021, he was appointed by the Party Central Secretariat to join the Provincial Party Executive Committee for the 2020–2025 tenure.
