Born with a special affinity for traditional healing methods, Nga chose to work at the Dong Nai Traditional Medicine Hospital as a professional calling.
Nga said the Acupuncture and Vitality Department currently has 6 doctors, 6 medical assistants, and nurses. Each month, the department receives 90-120 patients with a wide range of conditions, such as sequelae of cerebrovascular accidents, sequelae of trauma, musculoskeletal pain conditions, and motor function disorders. When patients are received, nurses closely coordinate with doctors and medical assistants in the department to provide care and treatment.
The techniques applied in the department are quite diverse, ranging from electroacupuncture and filiform needle acupuncture to mang cham, as well as nursing care methods such as changing dressings, cleaning wounds, placing gastric tubes, performing urinary catheterization, and assisting with injections and infusions.
"For me, working in a hospital environment is not just a job, as it is a part of my life. Most of our day is dedicated to the patients. Therefore, a spirit of solidarity and mutual support within our collective is vital to completing our mission," Nga shared.
Tran Thi Huong, Head of Nursing Department, Dong Nai Traditional Medicine Hospital, commented: "Nurse Pham Thi Kieu Nga is dynamic and deeply devoted. She not only actively shares her experiences to support younger colleagues but also constantly pursues further education to enhance her professional expertise."
