(ĐN)- Long Khanh Regional General Hospital’s doctors successfully reconnected the right leg of a 50-year-old patient living in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in a four-hour surgery.

Earlier, on December 19, the man had the end of his leg cut off completely by a fan of a grass cutting machine while he was cutting grass. He was taken to the hospital in a blood loss situation.

To rejoin the severed leg, doctors performed microsurgery, a form of plastic surgery in which they reconnect bone, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels.

The patient has recovered and can already move the toes slightly.
