(ĐN)- Dong Nai’s localities have recently launched mosquito larva killing campaigns in an effort to prevent dengue fever and Zika virus.
The campaign aims to increase awareness among local people on how to prevent dengue fever, which has been on the increase in the province, by delivering advice to their houses and calling for families’ self-protection against mosquitoes by cleaning water containers to remove mosquito larvae and prevent the spread of the disease.
More than 650 cases of dengue fever, including one death, have been reported in Dong Nai since early this year, a year-on-year decrease of 43 percent. Localities with the largest numbers of dengue infections are Nhon Trach district (over 200 cases), Bien Hoa city (187 cases), and Thong Nhat (48 cases).
