(ĐN) - According to Dong Nai provincial HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Centre, the province plans to set up two more methadone treatment facilities in Dinh Quan and Trang Bom districts in first quarter of 2017.
Currently, as many as 1,278 people who had drug addictions have been treated with methadone at four clinics in Bien Hoa city, Long Thanh district and Long Khanh town.
Together with psychosocial therapies, methadone has been proven to be an effective method in helping improve the overall health of drug users, reduce crimes and slow the incidence rate of HIV transmission and other blood-borne diseases.
