Dong Nai continues efforts to prevent dengue fever

Speaking at the session, Thuong highly appreciated efforts made by the province in preventing the spread of dengue fever over the past time. Accordingly, dengue fever cases have decreased sharply in Dong Nai in the recent weeks.

He suggested that the province needs to continue measures to constrain the growth of mosquitoes in a bid prevent dengue fever outbreaks.

Some 1,742 cases of dengue fever, including three deaths, have been reported in Dong Nai since early this year, 2,400 cases lower than in the same period.

Localities with the largest numbers of dengue infections are Bien Hoa city (471 cases), Nhon Trach district (193 cases) and Long Thanh (176 cases).

Since the beginning of the year, the province launched two mosquito larva killing campaigns within households in an effort to prevent dengue fever.
