(ĐN)- 120 pupils of Nguyen Binh Khiem primary school in Trang Bom district’s Song Trau commune took part in games, drawing contest at the recent festival held by Philips Vietnam company.

At the festival, the pupils also received free eye check-ups and medicine and guidebooks teaching children how to protect their eyes.

As known, Philips Vietnam has recently provided free upgrade of the lighting in the school to energy-efficient solutions that reduce energy consumption while enhancing teachers’ and pupils’ sense of well-being.

On this occasion, the company also presented 20 gifts and installed light bulbs at some poor household in the locality.

This is part of SimplyHealthy@Schools program carried out by Philips in 2009 to help underprivileged school children live healthier lives. It provides  a free upgrade of the lighting in the schools.

The program is aimed at 8 to 12 year olds and pays special attention to air, light, water, oral hygiene, exercise and the environment.

When these factors are improved, children perform better and their overall mental and physical well being also increases.
