The support policy, which comes into effect on November 20, is going to apply to children with inborn heart disease who have health insurance cards and are living in poor and near-poor households and those among social protection beneficiaries.

The financial assistance pays for their heart-related checks-up, examination and operations when they are treated at state health institutions which have signed contracts with the Health Insurance Fund (HIF).

The support sources from the HIF, State budget, Child Protection Fund, Health Care Fund for the Poor, and charitable money from individuals and organisations, both at home and abroad.
