The figure included more than 2,000 orphaned children whose parents died of HIV/AIDS and 124 others who are receiving health care and treatment at home and medical centres.
Presently, about 3,010 children at high risk of HIV/AIDs infection have not been tested for this virus.
Over the past time, the health sector has made efforts to prevent HIV/AIDS multi-harms on children and reduce the rate of HIV/AIDS infected children while promoting preventive measures to protect the community from the epidemic.
