Dong Nai finishes third overall at 2026 National Youth Sepak Takraw Championship

Dong Nai’s youth sepak takraw team won two gold medals to finish third overall at the 2026 National Youth Sepak Takraw Championship, held in Dong Nai City.

Dong Nai wins the gold medal in the men's doubles event for the 17–20 age group.

The tournament, jointly organized by the Sports Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Sepak Takraw Federation, and the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, concluded at the City Sports Training and Competition Center (Facility 2) in Binh Phuoc Ward.

Dong Nai captures the gold medal in the mixed four-player team event for the U16 age group.

Competing on home ground, Dong Nai’s youth team won two gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals across the U16 and 17–20 age categories, securing third place in the overall standings.

Dong Nai’s two gold medals came in the U16 mixed four-player team event and the 17–20 men's doubles event. The team also claimed two silver medals in the 17–20 mixed four-player team and U16 men's three-player team events, along with two bronze medals in the U16 women's three-player team and 17–20 men's three-player team competitions.

Meanwhile, Ha Noi topped the overall medal table with an impressive haul of seven gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. Ho Chi Minh City finished second with two gold, four silver, and six bronze medals, while Nghe An placed fourth with two gold and five bronze medals. Other delegations earning at least one gold medal included Dong Thap, Lao Cai, the People's Public Security team, Can Tho, Hue, Vinh Long, and Thanh Hoa.

Held from July 16 to 25, the championship attracted more than 200 athletes from 12 teams representing Vinh Long, Thanh Hoa, Dong Thap, Lao Cai, Nghe An, Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hue, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, and the People's Public Security. Athletes competed for 20 sets of medals in the U16 and 17–20 age groups across multiple events, including men's hoop, women's hoop, mixed hoop, men's four-player team, women's four-player team, men's three-player team, women's three-player team, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed four-player team competitions.
