The Dong Nai cycling team made an impressive start to the 2026 National Road and Mountain Bike Club Championships, winning one gold, one silver and one bronze medal on the opening day of competition in Lao Cai Province.

The championships, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Lao Cai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sports Federation, are being held from June 28 to July 2. This year's tournament has attracted more than 150 cyclists from 15 teams, representing some of the country's strongest cycling clubs. Athletes are competing in 10 events, including four road cycling disciplines and six mountain bike events, with both individual and team competitions.

On the very first day of competition, the Dong Nai cycling team had an impressive debut, winning all medals in the men's road race points event (36km). Specifically, Nguyen Huong (Vo Dac Dong Nai team) won the gold medal, Tran Trong Phuc (Vo Dac Dong Nai team) won the silver medal, and Nguyen Van Hieu (Kenda Dong Nai team) won the bronze medal.
This result gives the Dong Nai cycling team a favorable start in its journey to conquer the remaining events of the championship, while also affirming the entire team's careful preparation, disciplined training, and strong competitive determination.
