Dong Nai tops 2026 National Youth Jujitsu Championships

Young athletes from Dong Nai delivered an outstanding performance, finishing first overall at the 2026 National Youth Jujitsu Championships with 37 gold medals.

The tournament concluded on May 13 at Bac Ninh Sports University in Bac Ninh Province.

Organized by the Vietnam Sports Authority, the Vietnam Jujitsu Federation, and Bac Ninh Sports University, the competition took place from May 5 to 13, attracting nearly 500 coaches and athletes from 20 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide. Athletes competed in Newaza Gi, NoGi, Fighting, and Duo performance events (men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles) across various weight classes and age groups, including U12, U14, U16, and U18.

At the closing ceremony, organizers awarded prizes to top-performing athletes and teams. Dong Nai finished the tournament with an impressive total of 125 medals, including 37 gold medals, 40 silver medals, and 48 bronze medals across all age groups, thereby ranking first overall, along with first place in the U14 and U16 age groups, second place in the U12 age group, and third place in the U18 age group.

Among the standout performers was Vo Ngoc Bao Yen, who achieved a remarkable four-gold-medal haul in the girls’ U14 28kg division, winning titles in Newaza Gi, NoGi, Fighting, and mixed Duo events.

With this result, Dong Nai’s youth jujitsu team successfully defended its overall championship title for the second consecutive year, repeating its achievement from the 2025 tournament. Thai Nguyen finished second overall, while Bac Ninh placed third.
