Swimmers from Dong Nai province excelled, winning 6 gold medals to rank second in the finswimming event at the National Swimming and Finswimming Championships for Outstanding Athletes.

On December 27, the 2025 National Swimming and Finswimming Championships, which recognize outstanding athletes, concluded after four days of competition in Ho Chi Minh City.
On the final day of the finswimming competition, two swimmers, Vu Dang Nhat Nam and Le Thi Thanh Tuyen, continued to shine, bringing Dong Nai two more gold medals. Nhat Nam won the men's 50m bi-fins with a remarkable time of 19.67 seconds, while Thanh Tuyen won the women's 50m bi-fins (22.96 seconds).

Adding another gold medal in the men's 50m bi-fins on the final day, Vu Dang Nhat Nam concluded this year's competition with an impressive performance, securing a poker of gold medals and claiming the title of Best Male Diver of the tournament. Earlier, the Dong Nai athlete had won three gold medals in the men's 100m, 200m, and 400m bi-fins events. Meanwhile, Le Thi Thanh Tuyen earned a double gold (50m and 100m women’s bi-fins) and a silver medal in the women's 200m bi-fins.

In addition, Nguyen Le Truyen Dat won two silver medals (200m and 400m) in the men's finswimming competition. Thach Thi Diem My earned one silver medal in the women's 400m diving and one bronze in the 200m event, while Tran Thi Hoai Thuong claimed a bronze medal in the women's 100m finswimming.
With these results, the Dong Nai team finished second overall in the finswimming medal standings with six gold medals, four silver medals, and two bronze medals. Although also earning six golds, the Hanoi team topped the rankings with a higher silver count, finishing with six golds, six silvers, and seven bronzes. Nghe An placed third with five golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.
In swimming, Ho Chi Minh City led the standings with ten gold medals, twenty silver medals, and four bronze medals. Tay Ninh ranked second with nine golds, two silvers, and two bronzes. Notably, all nine gold medals for Tay Ninh were won by Vo Thi My Tien. Third place went to the National Defence Sports Centre 4, which won eight gold medals, six silver medals, and eight bronze medals.
The 2025 National Swimming and Finswimming Championships for Outstanding Athletes, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association, took place from December 24 to 27. The event attracted nearly 230 athletes from 17 units, including clubs, provincial and municipal sports training centers, and armed forces, such as An Giang, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and others.
