On the morning of December 7, at the 9-4 park, the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Xuan Loc Commune to organize the 1st Xuan Loc Commune Chua Chan Mountain Cross-country and Mountain Climbing Open (2025).

Attending the opening ceremony were Nguyen Khac Vinh, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Head of the organizing committee, as well as leaders from the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center.
Delegates from Xuan Loc commune had Nguyen Thi Cat Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of the commune; Ngo Thi An, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Le Khac Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, co-head of the organizing committee, along with specialized agencies and units of Xuan Loc commune, and representatives of sponsoring units.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Le Khac Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Loc commune, emphasized: The Chua Chan Mountain Cross-country and Mountain Climbing Open is a traditional cultural and sports activity that has been maintained for the past 24 years with 23 times organized in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the former Xuan Loc District People's Committee. Through these events, the race has attracted a large number of officials, union members, young people, athletes, and the general public to participate.

Following the administrative unit restructuring under the two-tier local government model, Xuan Loc commune was established and assumed jurisdiction over the area that includes the majestic Chua Chan Mountain. To build on the tradition of the race that has spanned more than two decades, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the People's Committee of Xuan Loc commune, will continue to organize the event under the title: 1st Xuan Loc Commune Chua Chan Mountain Cross-country and Mountain Climbing Open (2025).
The race aims to sustain the movement of physical training and sports, while reaffirming the commitment to turning this distinctive, traditional sporting event into a key highlight in the locality’s new phase of development.

This year's race attracted 1,200 athletes from 73 units, including communes, wards, agencies, schools, and the armed forces, in Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City. The race consists of 3 categories: the commune-level movement category, the commune-level category, and the open category. Competition events include the men's 5km run and 2km mountain climb, as well as the women's 2km run and 2km mountain climb. The competition nature includes individual, team (men's and women's), and overall team events.
