Writer Nguyen Duy Hien of Dong Nai won first prize in the Writing Contest "Kindness Around Us"

The third writing contest "Kindness around us" organized by the Labor Newspaper has just ended, leaving a beautiful impression in the hearts of readers with true, touching stories about kindness in everyday life.

Writer Nguyen Duy Hien ( Dong Nai ) won first prize in the Writing Contest "Kindness Around Us".

After more than 1 year of launching, the contest has attracted over 400 entries from authors nationwide. The organizing committee has selected 60 articles to be published in the Labor Newspaper every Saturday.

As a result, 7 works won first, second, third and consolation prizes. In which, the first prize belonged to the work “The Story of Mr. Hung Digging the Grave of a Martyr” by writer Nguyen Duy Hien (member of Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association).

The work tells the story of Mr. Le Thanh Hung, from Binh Dinh (old), currently living in Binh Phuoc ward (Dong Nai province). After the liberation of his homeland, witnessing many families still waiting for news of their children and husbands, he was always tormented by the lingering pain of war. Joining the team to search for and recover the remains of martyrs, he considered it not only a responsibility but also a wish to bring them back to their families and homeland.

The organizing board awarded first prize to writer Nguyen Duy Hien (Dong Nai).

For many years, he has traveled with his comrades through forests and lands that were once fierce battlefields, helping dozens of families find their loved ones. Not only that, he also mobilized donors to support poor households, donated wheelchairs to disabled children, and gave health insurance cards and essential items to the poor. His good deeds, although performed quietly every weekend afternoon, have left a deep respect in the hearts of the people.
