Three Dong Nai chess players to compete at the  Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025

Dong Nai has three players on the Vietnam youth chess team competing at the 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championship held in Bangkok (Thailand).

The Vietnam youth chess team is fielding a strong lineup of 71 players to compete at the 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championship, taking place in Thailand from November 20 to 30. This occasion is a prestigious tournament organized by the Asian Chess Federation for the continent’s top young players. Competitors will participate in Rapid, Blitz, and Standard chess in both male and female divisions across the U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-18 age groups.

At this tournament, many promising young Vietnamese chess players are registered to participate, including Dau Khuong Duy, Banh Gia Huy, Dinh Nho Kiet, Tran Ngoc Minh Duy, Dang Anh Minh, Le Phan Hoang Quan, and Nguyen Manh Duc.

Among the registered competitors, Dong Nai proudly contributes three players: Pham Minh Hieu (competing in the U-18 group), Tran Ngoc Minh Duy (U-16), and Ngu Phuong Linh (U-8). Tran Ngoc Minh Duy and Ngu Phuong Linh are expected to continue bringing joy to Vietnamese chess, as both recently won gold medals at the Southeast Asian Age-Group Chess Championship 2025 held in July 2025 in Malaysia. Minh Duy claimed 4 gold medals (2 individual and team gold medals) in the U-16 boys’ Standard chess, and 2 team gold medals (Rapid chess, Blitz chess); while Phuong Linh earned 3 gold medals (2 individual and team gold medals in the U-8 girls’ Standard chess; 1 team gold medal in the U-8 girls’ Rapid chess).
