Le Thi Nhu Quynh wins gold medal at the Southeast Asian Youth Athletics Championships

Athlete Le Thi Nhu Quynh (Dong Nai) excellently won the gold medal in the women’s long jump event for the U-20 age group at the Southeast Asian Youth Athletics Championships held in Indonesia.

The Southeast Asian Youth Athletics Championships 2025 take place from November 15 to 18 at Madya Stadium in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra (Indonesia). This year’s tournament features 63 competition events for athletes in two age groups: U-18 and U-20. Vietnam’s athletics team participates with 30 athletes, including Le Thi Nhu Quynh from Dong Nai.

Coach Nguyen Ngoc Quang said that on the afternoon of the first competition day (local time) at the Southeast Asian Youth Athletics Championships, Le Thi Nhu Quynh delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a result of 5.72m to win the gold medal in the U-20 long jump event. Following this event, Nhu Quynh will also compete in the triple jump. Le Thi Nhu Quynh is the only athlete from Dong Nai’s athletics team participating in this year’s tournament.

In addition to Nhu Quynh’s gold medal, Vietnam’s athletics team secured more gold medals on the first competition day in the following events: U-20 men’s javelin (Nguyen Tan Khiem), U-18 women’s javelin (Hong Diem), U-20 women’s 1,500m (Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh), U-20 men’s 400m (Nguyen Xuan An), U-18 women’s shot put…
