Young player Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen has been selected by the coaching staff of the Vietnamese badminton team to participate in the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG 2025) held in Bahrain from October 22 to 31.

Ranked 599th in the world, the young player from Dong Nai is not competing in the 2025 Vietnam Open badminton tournament currently taking place in Ho Chi Minh City. Instead, she is participating in the 2025 International Series in Malaysia to gain more experience ahead of her trip to Bahrain. Unfortunately, Thu Huyen was eliminated after her first match in the women's singles qualifying round.

The most recent notable international result for the Dong Nai player was a third-place finish in the U-15 women's singles at the 2025 International Grand Prix badminton tournament in Indonesia (July 2025).

On the domestic circuit, Nguyen Thu Huyen clinched gold medals in the U-15 women's singles and U-15 mixed doubles at the 2025 National Outstanding Youth and Junior Players Tournament, which concluded recently. She also earned a bronze medal in the women's singles at the 2025 National Individual Badminton Championship.

With these achievements, Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen is expected by experts to deliver her best performance and aim for strong results at the AYG 2025.
