The match will be held just few days before Vietnam’s qualifying games start, and for its importance, football leaders of both Vietnam and Jordan have agreed to organize the match behind closed doors.
Jordan are not strange to Vietnam, and the friendly match also helps the team prepare the best for qualifying clashes in Group B.
Like other Group B teams, Vietnam plan to make good preparations for the upcoming clashes. Thailand, Malaysia and the UAE have also selected rivals for their friendly games ahead of the qualifying round.
Vietnam are scheduled to take on Indonesia on June 7, Malaysia on June 11 and hosts UAE on June 15.
Chief coach Park Hang-seo’s players are set to gather on May 10 for a training camp before they fly to the UAE on May 27 to adapt to the local weather and the pitch.
All members of the coaching board and 45 players in the preliminary lineup have been vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
