Addressing at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Hoa Hiep of the provincial People’s Committee, who is also Head of the Steering Committee for the 8th provincial Games, highly praised the organizing activities of the festival, and asked the sports sector to spare no efforts to compete at the ongoing 8th National Games in Ha Noi.
She also suggested the localities to continue promoting the movements of playing sports among local people as well as conducting the campaign of following Ho Chi Minh’s good physical training habit.
At the event, the organizing board awarded flags to three best delegations namely Bien Hoa, Trang Bom and Vinh Cuu, and Tan Phu and Cam My- the best delegations among the mountainous localities.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 24 collectives and 24 individuals, while other 43 collectives and 61 individuals received certificates of merit from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their contributions in organizing the grand sports festival.
Taking place from January to November 2018, the Games attracted more than 2,600 athletes and coaches from 14 delegations across the province, competing in 21 games.
At the end of the Games, Bien Hoa ranked first with 58 gold, 44 silver and 47 bronze medals, followed by Trang Bom with 46 gold, 47 silver and 45 bronze medals while Vinh Cuu came third with 40 gold, 30 silver and 42 bronze medals.
