(ĐN)- Nguyen Van Long and Nguyen Van Quy of Dong Nai province excellently went second in categories for professionals at HCM City’s International Marathon on January 14.

Runner Nguyen Van Long came in second in the men’s 42km run while Nguyen Van Quy was second in the men’s 21km events.
Runner Ngo Dung secured the first place in the men’s 42km run with a time of 2:42, while Pha Le was the winner in the women’s category after a time of 3:08. Meanwhile, Phuc Cao and Phuong Nguyen came in first in the men’s and women’s 21km events, respectively.
In the amateur category, Kim Mitsu of Japan and Jep Naum of Kenya finished first in the men’s and women’s 42-km events, respectively.
The marathon attracted the participation of 8,000 athletes from 49 countries and territories. The tournament has been recognized as one of official events of the Vietnam Athletics Federation.
