Dong Nai attends National "Don Ca Tai Tu" Festival

(ĐN)- The National Festival of "Don Ca Tai Tu", the musical art recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, opened on Saturday night in Binh Duong province.

 

(ĐN)- The National Festival of “Don Ca Tai Tu”, the musical art recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, opened on Saturday night in Binh Duong province.

The festival, which is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Binh Duong province’s People’s Committee, attracted the participation of 21 provinces and cities in southern region from Ninh Thuan province to Ca Mau province, including Dong Nai.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien highly appreciated the provinces and cities along with composers, artisans, singers and Vietnamese overseas in preserving and promoting the Southern art form.

Participating in the festival, Dong Nai troupe, including 20 members, will perform 6 items which were composed by authors and artisans in Dong Nai and other provinces, popularizing Tan Trieu pomelo and tourist destinations in the province.

The second “Don Ca Tai Tu” Festival under the theme “Don Ca Tai Tu – Treasure of Southern People and Land” will close on April 12 with a special performance and fireworks display.
