(ĐN)- Dong Nai’s athletes won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the 2015 National Youth Taekwondo Championships, which recently closed Dak Lak province.
The gold medal belonged to Nguyen Dinh Tuyen who had excellent performance in 57kg category for men aged at 12-14. Meanwhile, athletes Le Thi Phuong Tram, Nguyen Tran Nhat Tam and Nguyen Huu Bang pocketed the silver and bronze medals.
Ho Chi Minh City came out on top in the competition.
This year’s tournament brought together nearly 800 martial artists aged between 11-20 from 39 cities and provinces across the country, competing for combat and demonstration medals in different age groups of both genders.
The annual competition provides a good opportunity for young athletes to display their talent as they vie to be selected for the national youth team in preparation for future regional and world events.
