Tuan was followed by Le Huu Loc, also from Dong Nai, and Tran Van Cong from Binh Thuan province. At the end of the competition, Dong Nai’s male team ranked second after the hosts Binh Thuan.
In the female race, Damg Thi Cam Tu from Binh Phuoc province came first to become the “Queen of Mountain climbing”. Second prize and third prize went to Nguyen Thi Quynh Tram and Nguyen Thi Hong Van, also from Binh Phuoc Province.
The annual event was held by the province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the participation of 37 teams comprising 294 athletes, both female and male, from eight southeastern provinces who competed in a 6,300-meter course, the women’s course was 5,300 meters.
Both races included the 2,300 meters climb up Ta Cu Mountain, whose peak is 694 meters above sea level, to finish the race at the hilltop Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda.
