The three-day competition attracted 52 players, including 5 foreigners from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Japan, competing in a knock-out form throughout the tournament
In the final match, Do Duc Hien defeated Nguyen Duy Trung from Da Nang city 40-26 to triumph at the event. The second-runner up went to Tran Quyet Chien from Ho Chi Minh city.
The winners recieved total prizes of VND100 million (US$4,800), including VND40 million for the champion, VND20 million for the first runner-up and VND10 for the second-runner up.
