The Dong Nai Farmers’ Association (DNFA) met with representatives of the city’s Business Federation, Young Entrepreneurs Association and Vietnam Agribusiness Club on October 29 to discuss cooperation in building linkages across agricultural production and marketing, as well as mobilising resources to support members and farmers in their economic development.

According to the DNFA, the city has strong potential for commercial agriculture, with key agricultural commodities including rubber, cashew nuts, black pepper, coffee, bananas, durian, pomelo and mango, as well as high-tech livestock farming. These advantages provide a solid foundation for establishing raw material production zones, fostering closer links between production and processing, and adding value to agricultural products. However, fully tapping this potential will require stronger connections between businesses, production areas, cooperatives, and agricultural processing and marketing facilities.

At the meeting, the DNFA proposed jointly surveying and selecting product categories with competitive advantages and clear market demand to implement a pilot cooperation model. The parties will also step up business networking, trade promotion and product marketing, while exploring opportunities to develop agricultural tourism and experiential tourism linked to the sale of agricultural products.
The organisations also plan to establish coordination mechanisms and share information on procurement needs, supply capacity and quality standards. They will also identify promising production areas and cooperatives to participate in suitable cooperation models.

Business representatives agreed to continue their cooperation in supporting farmers across the agricultural value chain, from production inputs to product marketing, and to develop specific plans for joint activities. The cooperation is expected to strengthen production linkages, expand markets for agricultural products and improve the efficiency of Dong Nai’s agricultural sector.
