Speaking at the event, Consul General Jung Jung Tae said Dong Nai was growing rapidly and had become an important economic centre contributing significantly to Viet Nam’s growth. The city also plays a key role in connecting manufacturing, logistics and services. RoK businesses, including major investors such as Hyosung, POSCO and Changshin, have continued to expand their operations, create jobs and contribute to local development. The RoK business community is Dong Nai's long-standing partner, contributing to and promoting the city’s development.

The dialogue gives the city valuable insights into businesses’ practical experience and proposals, helping Dong Nai further improve the investment climate and refine its policies. The city’s responses and support are also expected to help RoK businesses better understand Viet Nam’s legal framework and regulatory requirements, enabling them to expand their operations and maintain stable, long-term business activities in the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairwoman of the City People’s Committee, affirmed that the event not only helped address challenges facing individual businesses but also offered an opportunity to further strengthen trust between the city and RoK businesses and foster long-term cooperation for mutual development. The dialogue was more than an opportunity to meet and exchange information; it was intended to foster substantive discussions. By listening to businesses’ specific concerns and understanding their needs, the city aimed to work with them to identify practical solutions that could be implemented immediately after the event.
RoK is Dong Nai’s largest foreign investor in terms of both the number of projects and registered investment capital, with 469 projects and total registered capital of approximately US$8.37 billion. These projects have generally operated steadily while gradually expanding production and improving their competitiveness.
In the city’s industrial parks and economic zones alone, RoK-invested projects employ more than 171,000 workers, including nearly 2,200 foreign nationals. These figures highlight the significant role of RoK’s investment in Dong Nai’s industrial development and investment attraction efforts.
RoK businesses contribute more than investment capital and jobs. They also bring a culture of quality, labour discipline, the spirit of continuous improvement, strong management practices and a commitment to the welfare of workers, communities and the environment. These contributions have helped raise production standards, develop technical skills, strengthen supporting industries and enable domestic companies to integrate more deeply into global supply chains.
Going forward, Dong Nai will shift from pursuing investment at any cost to prioritising quality, efficiency and sustainability. The city will focus on attracting projects in high-tech industries, semiconductors, electronics, artificial intelligence, supporting industries and green technology, as well as projects that can drive the development of supply chains. These are sectors in which RoK businesses have considerable strengths and can continue to play a leading role.
Dong Nai’s leaders called on RoK businesses to continue treating the city as a strategic investment destination, expand their operations, upgrade their technologies, step up research and development, share management skills and train highly skilled workers. The city also encouraged RoK businesses to strengthen business-to-business links and help local companies become suppliers that meet international standards. They were urged to take the lead in green manufacturing, energy efficiency, emissions reduction and the development of a circular economy.
The city also called on businesses to fulfil their responsibilities by strictly complying with regulations on investment, construction, labour, fire prevention and firefighting, and environmental protection. They were urged to prioritise workplace safety and improve workers’ living conditions. Rapid growth must go hand in hand with sustainable development, balancing economic performance with social responsibility and environmental protection for future generations.
Dong Nai pledged to support businesses through concrete action, consistently pursuing a spirit of listening, resolving problems, creating opportunities and growing together. Each department, agency and local authority must clearly designate a point of contact, define responsibilities, set deadlines and specify expected results. Issues within the city’s jurisdiction must be addressed promptly. Matters beyond its authority must be fully documented, proactively referred to the relevant higher-level authorities and followed up until they are resolved.
