Dong Nai City is scheduled to start construction on July 10 on three major transport infrastructure projects, including the upgrading and expansion of Provincial Roads DT769 and DT773, and the construction of the DT770B route.

The projects are designed to strengthen connectivity between localities across the city and Long Thanh International Airport, completing the road network linking the city's urban areas, neighboring provinces and the wider region and the airport.

Connecting more localities to Long Thanh Airport

Among the three projects, DT 770B is the only newly built route. The road will stretch more than 42 kilometers, passing through nine communes and wards: Xuan Bac, Gia Kiem, Dau Giay, Xuan Que, Xuan Duong, Long Phuoc, Phuoc Thai, Binh Loc, and Xuan Lap. During the first phase, the road will be constructed with six traffic lanes and a width of 45.5 meters.

According to Ho Van Ha, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, once completed, DT 770B will connect the eastern and northeastern parts of the city with Long Thanh International Airport, industrial parks, the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, National Highway 51, and the Cai Mep–Thi Vai deep-water port complex. The project contributes to completing the transportation network while creating new momentum for socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, the DT 773 project will upgrade and expand a 39-km route to six to eight lanes under the final design. The route passes through six communes and wards—Xuan Hoa, Xuan Loc, Xuan Phu, Xuan Dong, Cam My, and Xuan Duong—and serves as a key transport corridor connecting southeastern areas of Dong Nai City with Long Thanh International Airport.

The DT769 project, stretching about 30 km and linking Dau Giay Intersection with National Highway 51, will also be upgraded and widened to a scale of six to eight lanes. Passing through Dau Giay, Binh An, and Long Thanh communes, DT769 is a major freight corridor carrying goods between Northern provinces and Central Highlands to Long Thanh and Nhon Trach, and vice versa. The road also provides access to the northeastern gateway of Long Thanh International Airport. Upon completion, the project is expected to shorten travel times, reduce logistics costs, and create opportunities for new residential, commercial, and service developments along the corridor, generating a new growth driver for Dong Nai and the whole region.

A growth nucleus

According to Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, Dong Nai has identified Long Thanh International Airport, with the future Long Thanh Airport City at its core, together with the Dong Nai River corridor, as the city's two primary new growth engines.

To maximize and spread the new development momentum generated by these core growth enablers throughout the city, Dong Nai considers investment in transport infrastructure—particularly road links to Long Thanh Airport—a top priority. Projects to build, upgrade, and expand roads serving transport links to the airport have therefore been designated as key municipal infrastructure projects.

According to the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the city is currently implementing a series of major transportation projects connecting the region, Long Thanh Airport, and Ho Chi Minh City. Several projects have already been substantially completed, including Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3, the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, and Provincial Roads DT25B and DT25C. In 2026 alone, Dong Nai has launched several additional strategic infrastructure projects, including Cat Lai Bridge, Long Hung Bridge, Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4, Nguyen Huu Canh Boulevard, and the connecting route from Ma Da Bridge to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4.

The combined investment for the upgrading and expansion of DT769 and DT773, along with the construction of DT770B, is estimated at nearly VND12 trillion, with approximately 730 hectares of land to be acquired for implementation.

Construction of these three projects will help complete Dong Nai's road network and significantly improve transport links between localities across the city and Long Thanh International Airport.

According to Dinh Tien Hai, Director of the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the investor aims to complete construction of all three projects within one year. He said construction materials and supplies are already available, and once site clearance is completed, the city’s goal is to complete the projects within one year.
