These projects, once completed, are expected to form the backbone of the city’s road transportation network, supporting future development demands.

Six projects expected to officially commence construction

Following a period of investment procedures and land clearance activities, six major transport infrastructure projects are expected to break ground across Dong Nai City in June 2026. Among them, four are new construction projects while two involve upgrading and expanding existing roads.

The new projects include Ma Da Bridge, Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4, Nguyen Huu Canh Boulevard, and Road 770B.

The section of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 passing through Dong Nai is divided into two component projects. Component Project 1-2, covering compensation, support, resettlement, and the construction of collector roads and side roads, is expected to commence in June 2026. Under this project, in addition to compensation and site clearance activities, Dong Nai will invest in nearly 62 kilometers of collector roads and side roads along the main expressway.

At a meeting on May 28 reviewing progress on key projects in Dong Nai City, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut stressed that projects scheduled to commence in June 2026 must proceed as planned and avoid delays caused by uncertain timelines or repeated postponements.

Meanwhile, following completion of Section 1, Dong Nai City will continue investing in Section 2 of Nguyen Huu Canh Boulevard (formerly Huong Lo 2 Road), specifically the section extending from Vam Cai Sut Bridge to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway. This section will span approximately 5.7 kilometers.

Road 770B is a new road project spanning nearly 43 kilometers and passing through nine communes and wards in Dong Nai City. Following the groundbreaking of the Ma Da Bridge in August 2025, the city’s competent agencies have increased the number of lanes from four to eight.

In addition, expansion and upgrading projects for Roads 769 and 773 are also expected to commence construction in June 2026.

Among the six projects, Nguyen Huu Canh Boulevard Section 2 is the only project being implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. Meanwhile, the remaining five are funded through public investment capital.

According to Dinh Tien Hai, Director of the Dong Nai City’s Construction Investment Project Management Board, procedures for the five publicly funded projects have been expedited to ensure construction begins on schedule.

Gradually completing the regional transportation network

All projects expected to commence construction in June 2026 are key works and projects of Dong Nai city. According to the planning, these are all inner-city, inter-city, and regional traffic connection axes serving the socio-economic development needs of Dong Nai city in the coming period.

Among these projects, Road 770B and the upgrades of Roads 769 and 773 are intended primarily to strengthen connectivity between local areas and Long Thanh International Airport.

Meanwhile, Ma Da Bridge serves as a crucial component of a major transportation corridor connecting the northern and southern areas of Dong Nai City.

For Nguyen Huu Canh Boulevard, Section 2 will complete a continuous route linking National Highway 51 with the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway. This initiative will create an additional gateway connecting Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City while helping ease traffic pressure on National Highway 51.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4 represents the largest road infrastructure investment project ever undertaken in the Southeast region. Beyond serving regional connectivity needs, the project is expected to open new development space for provinces and cities throughout the region. Regarding this project, on May 30, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut conducted an on-site inspection of land-clearance activities for Component Project 1-2.

During the inspection, the city leader largely agreed on the location for the groundbreaking ceremony of the collector-roads-and-side-roads component under Component Project 1-2 and instructed Xuan Que Commune and the City Land Fund Development Center to accelerate site clearance work to ensure construction can begin by late June 2026.
