Under Plan No. 52/KH-UBND on electricity saving in 2026 and the development of rooftop solar power, issued on June 1, the Dong Nai City People's Committee has set a range of targets to strengthen energy security and advance the city’s green transition.
Accordingly, the city aims to reduce total electricity consumption by at least 3% in 2026. In particular, during the peak hot-season months from April to July, electricity savings must reach at least 10%.
The plan also sets electricity-saving targets for different consumer groups. Public lighting systems must reduce electricity use by at least 30%, while administrative and public service agencies must save at least 5%. Industrial facilities, commercial establishments, and households are expected to reduce electricity use by 2-3%.
Beyond energy-saving measures, the plan also promotes greater use of rooftop solar systems to increase on-site power generation.

The city aims to install rooftop solar systems for self-production and self-consumption at around 10% of government offices and 10% of households each year. The city also encourages the integration of energy storage systems to help reduce pressure on the power grid during peak demand periods.
By promoting both electricity saving and rooftop solar generation for on-site use, Dong Nai expects to ease pressure on investment in new power sources, enhance energy self-sufficiency, and ensure a stable electricity supply for socio-economic development. As electricity demand continues to grow, these measures are expected to play an important role in strengthening the city’s long-term energy security.
