Currently, four major transport projects are being implemented in Dong Nai to serve connectivity to Long Thanh International Airport. These include Component Project  1 of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, Component Project  3 of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3, the upgrade of Provincial Road 25B (section from Nhon Trach Commune center to National Highway 51), and the construction of Provincial Road 25C (section from National Highway 51 to Backroad 19).

Previously, these projects faced delays due to difficulties in site clearance. However, significant progress has recently been made. Site clearance has been fully completed for Component Project  1 of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway and Component Project  3 of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3. For the upgrade project of Provincial Road 25B, more than 70% of the required land has been handed over, while over 90% has been cleared for the construction project of Provincial Road 25C. Although site clearance has shown clear improvements, the construction progress of the projects has not yet met requirements.

According to contractors, in addition to site-related issues, construction of the projects has also faced difficulties due to fluctuations in fuel and construction material prices recently.

Delivering the concluding remarks at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Ha emphasized the critical role of these projects in ensuring effective connectivity to Long Thanh International Airport, which is scheduled to begin Phase 1 operations by the end of 2026. While acknowledging the difficulties faced by contractors regarding recent fluctuations in fuel and construction material prices, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha requested contractors to ensure the completion progress of the projects as committed. Specifically, Component Project 1 of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway must be opened to traffic by the end of April 2026 to ensure synchronization with other component projects.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha also assigned the Provincial Project Management Board to work closely with contractors to address outstanding issues. Contractors failing to meet committed timelines may have their contracts terminated, and a sub-contractor will be added to ensure the completion progress of the projects.
