Dong Nai approves planning task for concentrated digital technology zone near Long Thanh Airport

Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee has issued Decision No. 929/QD-UBND dated March 17, 2026, approving the planning task for a 1/2,000-scale subdivision of the Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Zone, located in An Phuoc and Binh An communes, Dong Nai province.

The Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Zone will cover an area of more than 119 hectares, with over 117 hectares designated for planning (excluding safety corridors and power transmission tower foundation).

The goal of mapping out the planning is to establish a major IT hub and build infrastructure to support the application and development of digital technology. It aims to promote the growth of the IT industry, develop a center for research and development of IT products, supporting the training and technology transfer in the IT sector. The zone will also serve as a hub for incubating digital technology enterprises, along with attracting and expanding digital services.

At the same time, the project seeks to create a favorable environment for investment activities to attract domestic and foreign capital and technology, contributing to making the IT industry a key and vital economic sector of the nation. It also helps create an international standard working environment, attract high-quality labor, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises, It will roll out IT products and services capable of replacing imported products, contributing to promoting the development of sectors such as telecommunications, finance, banking, customs, aviation, commerce, e-commerce, and public services, education, healthcare, security, national defense. The Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Zone will also contribute to advancing economic growth, improving the production technology capabilities and the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises' goods and services, enhancing the position and brand of Vietnamese digital technology while forming a center providing IT and communications infrastructure and services that meet the standards of a concentrated digital technology zone.

In terms of its nature, the Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Zone is a planned, concentrated, and systematic area to promote activities related to the subdivision for production and business of digital technology products and services; the subdivision for research and development, consulting, training, and digital technology incubation; subdivision for offices and workplaces serving management and operation; the subdivision for key technical infrastructure; the subdivision for product display, introduction, and communication; other functional subdivisions performing the functions of a concentrated digital technology zone; the subdivision for accommodation services; the subdivision for  financial or banking-financial linkage; and other subdivisions providing services for the concentrated digital technology zone.

According to forecasts, the Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Zone is expected to employ between 9,500 and 10,500 workers.
