On January 12, Ho Van Ha, member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a working session with departments, sectors, and units to review reports on the implementation progress of Provincial Road 25B, Provincial Road 25C, and the off-airport drainage project for Long Thanh International Airport (Phase 1).

According to reports from the units, for the project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 25B (the section from the center of Nhon Trach commune, Dong Nai province, to National Highway 51), approximately 70% of the total site clearance area has been handed over. Regarding construction, the left side of the main route has been 100% asphalt-paved, and the left-side service road has completed the crushed stone base layer. Construction on the right-side main route and service road has been delayed due to outstanding site clearance.

Meanwhile, for the project to construct Provincial Road 25C (the section from National Highway 51 to Provincial Road 19 (Huong Lo 19)), contractors have not yet been able to carry out on-site construction because the handed-over land area is small and discontinuous.

Regarding the off-airport drainage project for Long Thanh International Airport (Phase 1), on December 17, 2025, the Project Management Board of Region 5 submitted a written request to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for appraisal of the project's feasibility study report. On December 22, 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment sent official letters to the Departments of Finance and Construction, as well as to the People’s Committees of Long Thanh and Long Phuoc communes, requesting appraisal opinions. To date, the Departments of Finance and Construction have provided their written appraisal comments.

A difficulty in implementing project procedures is that the drainage connection at Da Vang Stream with the airport’s drainage system has not yet been synchronized.

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Ha stated that Long Thanh International Airport is scheduled to begin operations in the first half of 2026. Provincial Roads 25B and 25C serve as key transport links to Long Thanh International Airport; therefore, the investor, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, must revise the critical path schedule and set clear project completion timelines. Both projects must be completed by June 2026.

Regarding the off-airport drainage project for Long Thanh International Airport (Phase 1), all procedures must be finalized, and construction is scheduled to begin by June 2026. Once construction begins, implementation must be accelerated to ensure the full disbursement of project funds by the end of 2026. The Department of Construction has been tasked with working with the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to finalize connection points.

Vice Chairman Ho Van Ha also assigned full responsibility for project progress to the investor units. The provincial Land Development Center is required to break down the site clearance process and assign specific responsibilities to each unit. Chairpersons of commune- and ward-level People’s Committees along the project routes will be held accountable if compensation and support plans are not approved and site clearance is not handed over according to schedule.
