Focus on Tet product "combos"

In addition to improving product quality, businesses, manufacturers, and other entities are also investing in design enhancements, launching new product lines, and offering items tailored for the Lunar New Year to attract consumers and expand the holiday market.

Dao Nguyen, representative of the Vi Vuong Foods brand (in Dai Phuoc commune), shared: To prepare for serving customers during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), the facility is focusing on product lines such as dried beef and crispy beef, available in a variety of distinctive flavors. It is also emphasizing packaging design and products made specifically for Tet, including Tet gift "combos" to meet customer demand. The facility's Tet product distribution is primarily concentrated in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai.

Similarly, Ngo Thanh Long, representative of Anna Dragon Fruit Wine Production Facility (in Dau Giay commune), said: The facility focuses on developing OCOP-certified products for the Tet market. The facility has launched a "combo" product for Tet, including OCOP-certified products from 2025: fermented cashew juice, cashew wine, kumquat wine, and fermented kumquat juice. Besides, the facility has developed new packaging in the shape of a cashew fruit to enhance the product's local character and creativity, thereby attracting customers.

According to Le Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of Nga Bien Import-Export Co., Ltd. (in Xuan Hoa commune), the company focuses on OCOP products, especially those achieving 5-star standards, to supply the Tet market. The company offers Tet gift sets featuring its signature OCOP products at prices ranging from 300,000 to 700,000 VND. Additionally, the company provides products to partners to develop suitable Tet gift combos.

Currently, many supermarkets and shopping malls across the province have set up dedicated sections for local OCOP products, giving residents more options when shopping for Tet (Lunar New Year). This platform serves as a channel to connect, promote, and distribute local specialty products in general, and OCOP products of Dong Nai in particular.

Demand starts to rise

According to businesses and OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities, demand for Tet (Lunar New Year) products has begun to rise. Many businesses and OCOP entities are proactively connecting with partners and expanding their markets through regional fairs and exhibitions, while also stepping up product promotion and sales on e-commerce platforms.

Ngo Thanh Long further shared: Besides traditional markets, the facility is also actively participating in trade promotion activities, most recently in the OCOP Product Week, regional specialties, and the Supply-Demand Connection Program between Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities, which took place in December 2025. Through these activities, the facility was able to connect with more partners to supply products for Lunar New Year 2026. At the same time, it has also been proactively developing markets for its products through e-commerce channels, social media, and other platforms.

Le Trung Hieu added: Currently, demand for Tet (Lunar New Year) products has increased by around 20 percent compared to normal. The market is concentrated mainly in southern provinces and cities, with a particular focus on Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and other areas.

Dong Nai has a large population, a sizable market, and diverse distribution channels, particularly a well-developed system of supermarkets, shopping malls, and wholesale markets. The province currently has around 490 OCOP products rated 3 stars or higher from 323 entities. Notably, by 2025, six more potential OCOP products are targeted to achieve national 5-star status.

Many production facilities, OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities, and local businesses have expanded their distribution and promotional channels, especially ahead of the upcoming Tet holiday. At the same time, departments, agencies, and localities are ramping up programs to support local products in participating in exhibitions and trade fairs, bringing them into supermarkets and shopping malls, and developing e-commerce platforms.

Nguyen Van Kien, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Tan Quan commune, Dong Nai province, shared that the commune currently has three products that meet OCOP standards: Quang Minh red-fleshed guava, Phu Xuan rice paper rolls, and Nam Hoa Thanh roasted salted cashews. Many local OCOP products are focusing on supplying goods to the market for the upcoming Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse). The Farmers' Association will step up its support for OCOP producers by connecting them with trade promotion channels, assisting local products in developing e-commerce platforms, and promoting and introducing these products to consumers.
