On the morning of January 27, Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, received a working delegation from the Japanese Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City during their working visit to Dong Nai province.

At the reception, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Kim Long noted that Dong Nai is currently one of the country’s localities with a significant economic scale, extensive land area, and a sizeable population, and that it also possesses a diverse transportation network with interregional and international connectivity. The province has more than 258 kilometers of border with Cambodia, and Long Thanh International Airport - the largest airport in the country - is scheduled to begin operations this year, thereby further reinforcing Dong Nai’s role as a dynamic engine of economic growth for the region and the nation.

In the industrial sector, the province has established 57 industrial parks, of which 43 are in operation, attracting investors from 46 countries and territories. Japanese enterprises alone account for 288 projects with a total registered investment capital of nearly 5.9 billion USD, ranking second in the number of projects and third in total foreign investment capital in Dong Nai. Japanese businesses have made significant contributions to economic growth, job creation, and the development of industry, trade, and services, particularly the province’s supporting industries.

To support Japanese investors, Dong Nai province has established the Kansai Desk (now the Japan Desk), collaborating with relevant agencies and units to receive and address enterprise concerns about investment procedures and work permits, provide information and investment opportunities in Dong Nai, and engage in exchanges and cooperation with the Pacific Resource Exchange Center (PREX) under the Human Resources Development Program for the manufacturing industry. Additionally, the province regularly holds business dialogue conferences and promotes investment and trade activities in Japan, thereby swiftly resolving the enterprises’ difficulties and fostering a favorable investment environment.

Alongside economic cooperation, the people-to-people diplomacy between Dong Nai and Japan has been increasingly strengthened. In the near future, the province will continue to maintain and expand cooperation with potential Japanese partners and promote exchanges in culture, education, and people-to-people ties, thereby improving the effectiveness of comprehensive cooperation in line with the potential and strengths of both sides.

The leader of the provincial People’s Committee expressed his hope that the Japan Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to promote its role as a bridge, connecting Japanese partners and enterprises to explore investment opportunities in Dong Nai in the future. Also according to him, with its current and upcoming advantages, Dong Nai has recently garnered increasing interest from foreign investors. The province prioritizes projects in green industries, high technology, and environmentally friendly sectors, areas in which many Japanese enterprises meet the requirements exceptionally well.

According to Kume Kunihide, in recent years, Dong Nai has introduced numerous innovations in administrative procedure reform, improved the investment and business environment, and strengthened its support for enterprises. In the coming period, the association will focus on organizing trade connectivity and trade promotion activities, creating favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to seek new investment opportunities and expand their operations in Dong Nai province.
