With strong political determination, broad public consensus, and a methodical, well-coordinated approach, the urban landscape of Chon Thanh ward is improving day by day.
Transport development goes first to lead the way
The Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh Expressway project is expected to open up new development space for the entire Southern Key Economic Region, including a more than 7.7 km section passing through Chon Thanh Ward. Construction packages are being accelerated, with construction carried out in parallel with site clearance to ensure progress in line with tasks assigned by the Government.
Regarding site clearance, 148 land plots, covering a total area of more than 57.8 hectares, have got approval for compensation exceeding 311 billion VND. To date, site clearance has been completed and handed over to the construction units.
For the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section of the western North - South Expressway, compensation has been approved for 62 land plots totaling more than 17.1 hectares, amounting to over VND 90.3 billion.
The consensus and active participation of residents have generated a collective strength, enabling many projects to be implemented swiftly, on schedule, and with high quality. At the Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh Expressway project, Lieutenant Colonel Duong Minh Tien, Director of Truong Son 16 Project Management Board under the Truong Son Construction Corporation, stated: “At present, we have deployed hundreds of vehicles and pieces of equipment and mobilized workforce to maintain round-the-clock construction in three shifts and four teams, ensuring the project is completed on schedule as committed. The current challenge lies in several locations where site clearance has not yet been completed, causing difficulties in material transportation.”
In addition to key projects, Chon Thanh ward places special emphasis on upgrading and expanding local transport networks. Many arterial roads, inter-neighborhood roads, and residential alleys have been asphalted or paved with concrete, creating a clean, orderly environment. Coordinated connectivity between internal ward roads and inter-regional transport corridors facilitates trade, investment attraction, and the promotion of production and business activities.
Expressing satisfaction with operations in Chon Thanh and the infrastructure investment projects, Pham The Hung, Director of Song Ma Bridge and Road Company, said: “Chon Thanh places great importance on infrastructure, especially upgrading and expanding transport routes to connect National Highways 13 and 14 and major national projects passing through the area. We are pleased to choose Chon Thanh ward to establish our business thanks to its many advantages for production and trade.”
Effectively mobilizing investment resources
Alongside transport development, Chon Thanh ward has also prioritized social infrastructure, investing in the construction and renovation of schools, medical stations, community cultural houses, and public playgrounds. These projects not only meet the educational, healthcare, and cultural needs of residents but also improve the quality of life and build a united, civilized community.
To maximize available resources, in addition to state budget funding, the ward has promoted socialization efforts, encouraging residents and businesses to contribute financially, donate land, and provide labor for the construction of essential infrastructure. In 2025 alone, the locality invested over 144 billion VND in basic construction, exceeding the provincial target by more than 209%. Completed projects have begun to demonstrate apparent effectiveness, serving as vital “arteries” for comprehensive local development.
Notably, since the beginning of the year, 161 new enterprises have been established outside industrial zones in the ward, bringing the total number of active businesses to 729. The ward’s total budget revenue for 2025 is projected at approximately 78 billion VND, reaching 420% of the provincial target.
Witnessing the significant transformation of Chon Thanh ward in recent times, Duong Duc Hoang, Head of Minh Thanh 1 Neighborhood, said: “Residents are very pleased with the progress in infrastructure investment in the area. This is a highly positive signal, expected to transform the local infrastructure and economy. People have strong confidence in future breakthroughs.”
Focusing on infrastructure development is creating new opportunities for Chon Thanh ward, not only improving residents' material and spiritual well-being but also creating attractiveness to investors, especially in promoting the economic restructuring toward a modern trade–service–urban model.
According to Nguyen Anh Tai, Chairman of the Chon Thanh ward People’s Committee, the Resolution of the 1st Congress of the Chon Thanh Ward Party Committee, term 2025–2030, sets the vision to build Chon Thanh into a “dynamic, ecological, and smart” ward. The locality will continue to upgrade and expand existing transport routes, while simultaneously investing in supporting infrastructure to beautify urban landscape and improve residents’ quality of life.
“The ward will coordinate with developers of industrial parks to build plans and investment planning for inter-regional transport routes and industrial parks, facilitating goods transportation for businesses and attracting further investment to drive socio-economic development,” Nguyen Anh Tai added.
