Installation of surveillance radar system at Long Thanh airport

On October 10, according to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the installation of the primary/secondary surveillance radar system at Long Thanh International Airport is currently underway.

VATM reported that despite unfavorable weather conditions and frequent rains in recent days, engineering teams have been working in shifts around the clock to ensure the project proceeds on schedule as planned by the investor.

All construction processes are being strictly supervised in compliance with VATM regulations and international technical standards. At the same time, occupational safety, environmental protection, and project quality control remain top priorities throughout implementation.

The installation project of the Long Thanh Airport surveillance radar system is invested, organized, supervised, and coordinated by VATM.

During the installation, engineers and technical specialists from the Long Thanh Air Traffic Control Center (under the Southern Air Traffic Services Company) are closely cooperating with foreign experts from Easat Radar Systems Limited (EASAT) to install key components of the primary/secondary radar system.

EASAT, a reputable radar manufacturer based in the United Kingdom, serves as the contractor responsible for supplying and installing the radar surveillance equipment. With many years of extensive experience in providing radar systems for major airports worldwide, EASAT brings advanced technological solutions that fully meet the stringent technical standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and reliability in air traffic surveillance at Long Thanh Airport.

Alongside the passenger terminal, runways, taxiways, and synchronized technical infrastructure, the investment in a modern surveillance radar system is a crucial step to ensure precise, safe, and advanced air traffic management from the outset. Once completed and operational, the primary/secondary radar system at Long Thanh Airport will provide extensive airspace coverage, effectively supporting air traffic control operations across the southern region.
