(ĐN)- On May 30, Dong Nai Province will hold a dialogue between provincial leaders and local farmers to address challenges and propose solutions for sustainable agricultural development and better rural livelihoods.

Despite its industrial profile, over half of Dong Nai’s population relies on agriculture. The province has achieved notable results in rural development and increasing agricultural productivity. Many rural areas have become attractive tourist destinations and are shifting toward green farming.

However, farmers still face various challenges: unstable markets, rising input costs, substandard agricultural materials, natural disasters, labor shortages, lack of production chains for export, and limited access to market forecasts and technology. Farmers are calling for more support, including low-interest loans, better regulation of inputs, access to modern technologies, and investment in processing industries.

Dong Nai currently has over 391,000 hectares of crops and produces around 1.6 million tons of agricultural products annually. It also ranks among Vietnam’s top provinces in pig and poultry farming. These are strong foundations for building sustainable farm-to-table supply chains and boosting both domestic consumption and exports.
