(DN)- Long Thanh district is concentrating resources to implement major projects and accelerate public investment disbursement, aiming to make a breakthrough in infrastructure development.

These projects require significant investment and large-scale land clearance, necessitating support from Dong Nai’s provincial departments in terms of documentation, procedures, and funding.

20 key infrastructure projects

As Long Thanh is planned to become an urban hub of Dong Nai, the district is prioritizing numerous infrastructure projects. In 2025, several projects are underway or set to commence, with 20 key projects requiring focused execution. To ensure effective implementation, the district has categorized them into three groups.

The first group consists of six projects that have not yet received investment approval, primarily related to transportation infrastructure. These include Bung Môn Road in Long An Commune, the road connecting National Highway 51 to the northern boundary of Long Thanh International Airport, Tan Hiep Road, and Long Phuoc - Phuoc Thai Road. These projects have not been allocated funding, so authorities have yet to appraise and submit their investment proposals to the provincial People's Committee.

The second group includes 11 projects awaiting approval, such as the Phuoc Binh - Bau Can - Cam Duong Road (from Phuoc Binh Commune to Thai Hiep Thanh intersection in Bau Can Commune), Bui Thi Xuan Road, Vu Hong Pho Road, Nguyen Du Road, and infrastructure for the Long Thanh Town resettlement area (Phase 1). Some of these projects require adjustments due to overlapping zoning plans, while others await updated land price frameworks for compensation or need to relocate technical infrastructure before proceeding.

The third group comprises three ongoing projects: Component Project 5 – Medium and Low Voltage Power Grid, Long Phuoc Resettlement Area Development, Long Duc Resettlement Area.

Ensuring project progress

Executing key projects as planned is crucial for accelerating public investment disbursement and fostering economic growth. However, ensuring progress requires not only local efforts but also support from provincial authorities and relevant departments.

Long Thanh District has requested the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee and the Department of Planning and Investment to allocate funding for urgent projects that have completed documentation but lack financial resources. These include Huong Lo 21, Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Town Resettlement Area, and Tran Phu Road. Additionally, funding is needed for the Bung Mon Road, Long Phuoc - Phuoc Thai Road, and Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport external drainage system.

Local authorities have also urged land management agencies to review and update land records annually, ensuring timely adjustments to zoning and project plans to prevent repeated revisions.

According to Le Hoang Son, Vice Chairman of the Long Thanh District People’s Committee, identifying key projects is a top priority, with direct accountability assigned to district leaders and project owners. To maintain oversight, district authorities will conduct bi-weekly meetings to track progress, address challenges, and clarify responsibilities. Each project must have a detailed Gantt chart outlining tasks, deadlines, and responsible entities.

Accelerating land clearance efforts

In the coming months, the district will mobilize all available resources to expedite land clearance. This includes reviewing and expanding personnel for land assessment and compensation pricing. Authorities will also intensify public outreach, negotiations, and, in cases of non-compliance, enforce compulsory land acquisition as per legal regulations. Collaboration with relevant units will be strengthened to speed up the relocation of technical infrastructure, facilitating construction.

Duong Minh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that addressing bottlenecks in land clearance is essential for major projects. Localities must proactively complete procedures, establish resettlement areas for displaced residents, and organize public outreach campaigns to encourage voluntary land handover. Additionally, authorities must effectively handle legitimate complaints and petitions from affected residents.

By implementing these measures, Long Thanh District aims to accelerate its infrastructure projects, ensuring timely execution and fostering economic development.
